Lilly, like all almost-2 year olds, has some pretty funny things that she says. For instance, she recently has started saying bye, love you when saying goodbye to someone. We were visiting with her friend, Troy, and when leaving, she said, Bye Troy, Love you Troy! She's carried this over to inanimate objects- tonight she was playing with her play food and she put a cookie into a container and said "bye cookie, love you cookie." She also can, thanks to Pete, name several Notre Dame football players and some Cubs. My favorite is Kosuke Fukudome (in Lilly speech: "kos-ke kukudodeh").
Another funny Lilly saying is "mommy do this." She uses this phrase quite frequently when she's frustrated or just wants me to do something for her. It's only funny when Pete says "Mommy do this" and Lilly immediately says, "No Mommy do this. Yes Mommy do this." She disagrees with Pete without thinking about what he is saying. She also has started warning herself if she's doing something more difficult...climbing onto the couch, trying to get on her bike, etc. She'll say "care-tu yi-yi" (interpretation: careful, Lilly) as she's climbing. She even uses the correct inflection - imitating me and Pete when we say it.
