My Petal
Lilly and Pete went on a walk tonight and Lilly came back with three flower petals (they looked like they had been run over, so I have no idea what kind of flower they were from). She decided that she needed to put one petal under each of our pillows because that is definitely where petals belong. Tonight, I was just listening at her door while she was in bed and I heard her talking outloud. I went in and asked what she was doing and she said "oh, I was just talking to my petal. Don't you want to go talk to your petal?"

Spring activities
Lilly on her new "big" bike:

Happy Easter:

Lilly and Auntie Liz:

At the greenhouse: So, we went with our friends to see the spring flowers in the greenhouse. Of course, there was a kid friendly (haha) room full of cactuses (cacti?). Lilly and Gus decided to touch a cactus that was at their eye level (because, isn't that where all cacti should go- right within a 3 year old's grasp). Unfortunately, this cactus had lots of tiny, super thin pricklers that came off and stuck into your hand!! Lilly, being the gentle, timid child, GRABBED the cactus, so her entire hand was covered. We (okay, I did since Lilly was crying and screaming for most of this time) spent the next hour at home trying to remove all the prickler-needle things. Not so fun. Lilly is now terrified of tweezers. But here are the pictures before we found the horrible cactus:

Bedtime Adventures
Lilly's comments on why she kept getting out of her bed tonight:
8:00 pm: It's not dark.
8:06 pm: When we go to the greenhouse tomorrow, can I see if there's a pool? (it's a fountain and I made the mistake of telling her she could throw a penny in and make a wish)
8:12 pm: I need to go potty.
8:27 pm: Can I make 4 wishes and throw 4 pennies in?
8:34 pm: Hey Mommy, guess what, I can sing the whole Joy to the World!
8:40 pm: Hey Mommy, can I tell you something? Remember those two Ella books we had? (which are sitting on her bookshelf)
8:44 pm: I'll make 10 wishes!
8:47 pm: It's too dark.
8:55 pm: Okay, I'll just have 3 wishes.
9:02 pm: Maybe just 4 four wishes.
At about 9:10 I heard her singing to the tune of "she'll be coming round the mountain," "tape dinosaur train tomorrow" and "3 plus 4 makes 2 and 1 is 8."
Clearly, she had too long of a nap today.

Feb/March
February and so far in March have been pretty busy for us. Here are some of our fun activities:
Watching the St. Patrick's Day parade with cousins ("it's really cold out here and we are only smiling because we are being bribed with candy"):

the reinhardts, brewers, and Trish at Trish's house in Indy:

Lilly and Jane, silly faces during dinner in Indianapolis:

I need to squeeze your face, Danny!

Digging for dinosaur bones at the Children's museum in Indianapolis:

Building a glass (plastic) art sculpture at the museum:

hi Bob! Lilly loves to pretend she is Bob the Builder at home (though we've never seen the show), so she really enjoyed this exhibit at the museum:

practicing her balance beam routine at gymnastics class:

getting ready to watch Strega Nona, Lilly's first play. She really loved this and got a kick out of all the singing and the pasta (for those of you who know this story)

the whole brewer side of the family:

Experiment
Lilly is very into experimenting lately, so I pulled out vinegar, food coloring and baking soda last week and she had a blast. We went through a huge container of vinegar in about 1/2 hour and almost an entire box of baking soda. Lilly liked to add food coloring herself, which resulted in this horrible color because she added every color to every container, but it was fun!

Bowling
Here's Lilly's debut as a professional bowler. Her form could use some work and she definitely is not going to win anything for speed, but she looks cute in those shoes!
